Early in 2003 the well known actor Michael Sheard helped to launch the first in a series of titles for Miley Productions entitled 'In
Conversation With Michael Sheard'.
The
production runs for little over an hour and gives an insight
in to Michaels life and times from where he grew up through his
acting years and beyond.
The title was well placed to work in tandem with his autobiography.
Paul
Miley 'CEO' of Miley Productions is mentioned many times in Michaels
various books and referred to as 'Mr Never On Time'!
'In
Conversation With Michael Sheard' went to DVD and was also shown
in 3 parts across a UK Cable/satellite TV station.
Check
it out here.

The
tributes are pouring in and the Sheard family would like to thank
you all for your kind words and thoughts. Before you read Ian Liston's
memorial below, I have a few announcements from the Sheards.
If
you'd like to e-mail your condolences to the Sheard family, you
can use the new address I've set up: condolences @ michaelsheard.com.
You may not get a reply but do not take that to mean your message
wasn't received or appreciated! You can also use the tribute
box below which the family is viewing on a regular basis.
As
for the funeral arrangements, there will be a short service at the
Isle of Wight crematorium on Wednesday September 7th at 3pm. Please,
if you do attend, respect the privacy of the family. Although flowers
will be welcomed, the family would prefer any gestures of condolance
and support to made in the form of donations to the Earl Mountbatten
Hospice, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 2ER UK.
Below
is a message from one of Michael's friends and another actor who
appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, Ian Liston.
A
Message from Ian Liston:
I was greatly saddened
to hear of Michael Sheard’s untimely demise.
I last
saw him at Celebration III in Indianapolis where he was his usual
ebullient self, always ready with a witty remark, the first to indulge
in cheerful banter and often (by his own admission!) the last to
buy a round at the bar.
It
was Michael who first brought me on to the ‘convention’
circuit when he invited me over to an event on the Isle of Wight
about ten years ago. I was very unaware of what was expected of
a guest but Michael made me feel very welcome and he soon put me
on the right track. That was the first time I experienced one of
his famous (to the actors involved, often infamous!) question and
answer sessions. I soon learned that Michael asked all the questions...
and usually gave all the answers.
He
never missed a chance to attend a convention or event, however big
or small, and his famous ‘badged blazer’ carried his
treasured insignia of the many organisations with which had become
involved over the years… and in which he maintained a genuine
ongoing interest.
Michael
was a staunch and fervent advocate for all that was Star Wars. In
the many conventions I attended where he was a guest, I never saw
him be rude or dismissive to any of the many legions of fans to
whom he was a very popular personality. He would always chat with
the fans and if he ever tired of their questions, he never showed
it.
He
will be very sadly missed by so many people he had befriended all
over the world as part of the Star Wars circuit. He was a talented
and versatile actor and a ‘real pro’ of the old school
and I shall miss him enormously.
My
sympathy and thoughts go out to his beloved wife, Ros, and his family.
May he rest in peace.
